Let's not talk about the weather.

I think we can all agree that the last couple of weeks have been fantastic. There have been days and evenings on the beach, barbecues, happy people and lots and lots of fun. It unfortunately all went wrong a couple of days ago and although it hasn't been cold it has most definitely been wet!

We have been seeing some fantastic photos on Facebook of beach days and some wonderful sunsets. Some of our friends are fabulous snappers.

It really is beautiful here.

We have been as busy as ever with another new property on our books. It's called Sea Fever and is set on Back Road East which is in the heart of the Downalong area of St Ives.

It has unrivalled views over the harbour and pier and a fresh contemporary decor and our first guests are in there at the moment. We can't wait to hear what they thought of it all.

There is lots going on in the area at the moment, starting on Friday 14th with Marazion carnival.  Marazion is a a beautiful little village, about 20 minutes drive from St Ives and the beach is overlooked by the famous St Michael's Mount.

If animals and the land and a busy day is what you after , then on Saturday there is Stithians Show - ofetn referred  to as a slightly less manic Royal Cornwall Show, it really is a fantastic day out.

And if boats are your passion? The starting on Friday 14th June is Falmouth Classics Regatta . with all styles of boats from all over the world.

And  of course if you want to stay in St Ives and just relax there are all the wonderful shops , galleries and restaurants to visit.

We are of course confident that by tomorrow the sun will be out again shining on us all.

Food Glorious Food!

Not long now until the St Ives Food and Drink Festival 2013

Being held on the beautiful Porthminster Beach next weekend -

there will be cooking demos, food tasting sessions, pasty making classes for the kids, food forraging walks, lots to do and lots to enjoy for all the family.

St Ives is extremely lucky to boast an array of excellent restaurants and many of which will be busy at any time of the year -  even when the town seems to have no visitors! This we think is a reflection on the brilliant food and service provided all year round.

The Food Festival is now in its' fourth year and is getting more and more popular each time. Last year the event was held on the West Pier and an estimated 8000 visitors attended. This year it is expected that there will be even more than that so it has been moved to Porthminster Beach where there will be more room and marquees, produce stalls and all sorts of people talking about their love of food.

And here in St Ives we are very lucky to have a range of local shops that sell all sorts of fresh food that we can use to try and create some of the meals that you could see at the festival.

Our local greengrocers which now also sells a range of fresh fish, the local butchers selling locally reared meat, and for some delicious cheeses, cooked meats and other goodies  try this place.

So .................are you all hungry now?

Things to do and things to see

Well things have just calmed down again after Easter and the town is a little bit quieter.

It may have been wet at Easter but we have been blessed with some lovely warm days in the last couple of weeks - the sun was out, summer clothes were being worn and everyone was happy. We love looking at this local weather forecast but are crossing our fingers that it may be wrong for the forthcoming weekend!

We have been ultra busy with another new property to add to our books......The Bay House

It's a beautiful Victorian house with the most fantastic views of St Ives Bay, Hayle Estuary, Porth Kidney Sands and of course, Godrevy Lighthouse. We can't wait to welcome our first guests there very soon.

The rest of Cornwall has a busy week  ahead too, starting this Saturday with Trevithick Day at Camborne, the British Cross Country Mountain Bike Series 2  ( where vistors and spectators can get involved ) , for surf enthusiasts there is  the Legends of the Bay at Newquay with all sorts of events and last but not least, the world famous 'Obby Oss' Day in Padstow next Wednesday.

And if you want a quieter few days? Well the town is busier but not packed and all the fantastic restaurants are open and hopefully if the rain stays away then we may be able to sit outside and enjoy the warmth as well as the food and drinks.

There are also lots of weekly events here, as well as annual ones and if you look at this website it will list all regular meetings etc with fun and relaxation for all the family.

Hope everyone is well and happy and manage to enjoy  a bit of St Ives and Cornwall very soon.

Read all about us!

Absolutely manic day today but it's business as usual!

Yesterday was utterly freezing but today the sun shone thank goodness.

All of our Saturday properties have had changeovers today and our crew have been working flat out to make everything perfect.

Apart from the  signs on the walls of our houses - have any of you spotted the othwer giveaway that it's us in there?

Our little card boxes!

We hang them on doors, on walls, and leave them on doorsteps so people can have a look at what we do, and where.

The good news is that lots of them have been picked up this week so fingers crossed that means a busy season ahead for us all.

And a very Happy Easter to everyone - we hope you all get the eggs that your heart's desire!
